Located at the gateway of Provence, near the famous village of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the Domaine des Chanssaud has maintained the family tradition since 1826 .

Patrick Jaume, current owner since 1985 directs the 50 hectares property and strives to produce wines of Châteauneuf-du-Pape (20 Ha ) and Côtes du Rhône (30 Ha) which are the expression of the “terroir” and climate so characteristic of this part of the southern Rhone Valley .

The soil consists mainly of clay, sand and quartz pebbles formed by the alluvial deposits of the Rhône. These stones store the heat and release it during the night, maintaining a stable ambient temperature, thus allowing optimal grape maturity .

The old cellar vault serves for aging the wine with 600-liter barrels in which the red Châteauneuf pass a year. A modern winery was founded in 1995. With a capacity of 2,500 HL of wine and 700 HL storage in underground tanks, it has modern facilities that allow vinification under the best conditions.

The wine is bottled at the winery by a specialized company, which guarantees quality and hygiene and allows precise control of operations. Bottles packed in metal boxes are then stored in an air-conditioned room where they remain until they hit the market.

The vineyards are worked the traditional way. Fertilizer inputs of organic origin, regular plowing and harvesting by hand is a cultural choice.
