The Poggio L’Apparita estate covers 20 hectares in the Maremma appellation, 20 km north of Grosseto. The entire property is placed under the protection of the environmental heritage of the provinces of Siena and Grosseto due to its historical and landscape importance.
Poggio L’Apparita produces “Super Tuscan” style wines made from Sangiovese, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Petit Verdot. The estate also includes an olive grove and produces high-quality olive oils.
The origins of the house on the estate are not certain; it is not clear if in the past it was a customs on the border between the Republic of Siena and the Papal States or, given its architecture, if it had been a military settlement, known on ancient maps as “Podere San Michele”, hence the choice to call their wines “San Michele di Poggio L’Apparita”.
Poggio L’Apparita offers accommodation on site in an enchanting setting.
