Tuscan elegance, reimagined
Nestled in the unspoiled hills of San Casciano dei Bagni, in southern Tuscany, Podernuovo a Palazzone embodies a contemporary vision of a historic terroir. Founded in 2009 by Giovanni Bulgari, an iconic figure of Italian luxury, the estate was born from a clear ambition: to craft great Tuscan wines in complete harmony with nature.
Spanning roughly 100 hectares, with about 30 hectares under vine, the estate rests on soils rich in clay, sand, and marine fossils—remnants of an ancient sea. This distinctive terroir, combined with elevations ranging from 250 to 350 meters, creates ideal conditions for wines that are structured, fresh, and remarkably precise.
International grape varieties—Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot—are grown alongside Sangiovese, following a rigorous parcel-by-parcel approach where each vine is meticulously tended. The vineyard is farmed organically, with particular attention paid to natural balance and biodiversity.
Architecture, precision, and vision
The winery, a striking piece of contemporary architecture seamlessly integrated into the landscape, reflects the estate’s philosophy: restraint, precision, and respect for the raw material. Every step of the winemaking process is designed to guide the fruit gently, allowing the terroir to express itself with purity.
Oak aging is handled with finesse, favoring elegance over sheer power. Nothing is left to chance—each cuvée is the result of a constant pursuit of balance between structure, freshness, and aromatic expression.
Wines of balance and depth
The wines of Podernuovo a Palazzone stand out for their precision and refinement. Both generous and vibrant, they offer a modern interpretation of Tuscany, where ripe fruit is supported by remarkable freshness.
Each bottle reflects a clear ambition: to produce sincere, precise wines deeply rooted in their environment—where the rigor of a great project meets the emotion of an unspoiled place.
