Domaine Paul Janin & Fils

The Domaine Paul Janin & Fils, located in Romanèche-Thorins, is one of the jewels of Beaujolais, celebrated for its authenticity and family expertise. Since 1937, the estate has excelled in producing wines from the renowned Moulin-à-Vent, widely regarded as the most prestigious cru of Beaujolais. This exceptional wine, known for its aging potential, unveils its grace and complexity after a few years, offering a rare and elegant tasting experience. The estate also produces red and white Beaujolais-Villages, a testament to its unwavering commitment to quality.

Now led by Éric Janin and recently joined by his daughter Perrine, representing the fifth generation, the estate continues to uphold a tradition of craftsmanship, placing manual labor and respect for the terroir at the heart of its philosophy.

In 2024, the estate received prestigious accolades: it was named a “coup de cœur” (favorite) in the Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2024, and Éric Janin was awarded the title of “Winemaker of the Year” for the Beaujolais region. These honors, bestowed by the esteemed Revue du Vin de France, were accompanied by the attribution of two stars, highlighting the exceptional quality and character of the estate’s wines.

In 2018, the family expanded its legacy by founding the Maison Paul Janin & Fils, dedicated to creating exclusive cuvées of Moulin-à-Vent. True to its artisanal and family values, each bottle tells the story of an extraordinary terroir, expressing a perfect balance of respect for nature, passion for winemaking, and ancestral expertise.
