Description
Production: A typical Bordeaux blend produced only in the best vintages. The grapes come from the Vecchia Contea De Gorizia region, which is now part of Italy and Slovenia; until 1918, these vineyards were part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The grapes are harvested later than usual. The wine is aged in large oak casks for about 12 months and then in the bottle for an additional year.
Tasting: Intense ruby red with garnet highlights. Its bouquet evokes raspberries, violets, blackberries, freshly cut herbs, and tart cherries. On the palate, it is dry, displays beautiful balance, and envelops the palate. The finish is clean with structuring tannins.
Pairings: red meats and game.
