Argirio is a pure and elegant expression of Tuscan Cabernet Franc, combining aromatic ripeness, Mediterranean freshness, and remarkable depth.
Production: Made from Cabernet Franc grown on 6 hectares of clay-limestone soils. Gentle pressing with a portion of whole berries to encourage partial carbonic maceration and enhance varietal expression. Fermentation and maceration in open wooden vats for 20 to 35 days, with two daily pump-overs. Malolactic fermentation in 225-litre barriques, followed by ageing for 12 to 18 months in new and used oak barrels. Final blending in concrete vats, then 4 to 6 months of ageing before filtration and bottling.
Tasting notes: Deep ruby red colour with violet reflections. The nose is highly expressive and typical of Cabernet Franc, showing ripe green pepper, black fruit, and wild berries, complemented by balsamic notes of rosemary and marjoram. The aromatic evolution reveals hints of dark chocolate and fine wood. The palate is full-bodied and structured, with very fine tannins and a beautiful mineral backbone. The wine is balanced, elegant, and long on the finish.
Food pairing: Ideal with grilled red meats, herb-roasted lamb, game dishes, slow-cooked stews, or hard aged cheeses.
